Haven House is located in Poplar Bluff, MO
Haven House offers 31 beds for adults and children displaced by violence. Residents receive shelter, meals, and hygiene items at no cost. While in the shelter, survivors can safety plan, set goals, and access peer support or individual counseling. Advocates provide community referrals. Beds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Not everyone who utilizes Haven House is in need of shelter. For those who need outreach resources, advocates are available to meet with them individually and discuss the dynamics of domestic violence, its effects on the family, and the most common experiences of those who have been victimized.
Great Expectations Foundation rewarded them with a $2,000 grant to help with the expansion of their outdoor gathering area. Their community goals align with that of the Great Expectations Foundation.
