The foundation was created by the Carrico family of St. Louis, MO. The family is passionate about helping children and, through this foundation, aims to provide funds to organizations that fulfill its mission
Our History
The Great Expectations Foundation is a Missouri-organized not-for-profit corporation formed in November 2011, meeting the 501(a) and 501(c)(3) exemption requirements of the Internal Revenue Service as a charitable organization.
The Great Expectations Foundation exists to provide funding for organizations focused on education, fitness, and wellness, as well as emotional and spiritual development.
By making grants to these types of organizations, and overseeing the grants to ensure their use for charitable purposes, the foundation hopes to enhance the lives of people in the Midwest region of the United States.
In 2022 Larry and Sharon chose to open up grant requests to additional organizations in the communities they serve. Their hope is to increase awareness among coworkers driving more engagement as well as reach further into their communities creating more stable and sustainable environments.

“Every child’s story should be one of triumph.”
