The critical importance of Boys & Girls Clubs’ holistic approach to youth development became evident during a seemingly routine icebreaker session when our young members shared their most embarrassing moments.
While many of us might recall minor mishaps, these brave young souls revealed the harsh realities they faced during the pandemic. This stark revelation drove us to establish a partnership with Sunbeam Family Services, providing essential mental health resources for our youth and staff. Shockingly, Sunbeam found that 92% of kids at one Club site and 30% of youth across all sites required mental health support, underlining the urgency of our mission.
Great Expectations Foundation rewarded the Boys & Girls Club of OCK with a $2,500 grant toward a partnership with Sunbeam Family Services to provide mental health support. Their community goals align with that of the Great Expectations Foundation.
