The Boys and Girls Club of Poplar Bluff is located in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Poplar Bluff provides a safe place to learn and grow in a fun and safe environment. Children build ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals through life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, which helps in building self-respect and positive self esteem
Great Expectations Foundation rewarded them with a $5,000 grant to help assist in their Junior Staff program which is available to all youth in grades 8th – 12th and consists of about 40 members. The Junior Staff is an after school program from 3pm-6pm that focuses on structured activities for teens, promoting responsibility, leadership, honesty, good character, and a sense of service.
The Junior Staff program has had 85% of their members clock into their goal of 100 hours in jobs around the Boys and Girls club such as: server in the kitchen, janitorial work, operating the front desk at the club, and participating in community service opportunities.
