Jefferson County CEO

The Jefferson County CEO is located in Mt.Vernon, IL.

The mission of the Jefferson County CEO class is to teach entrepreneurship to high school juniors and seniors. Entrepreneurship education seeks to prepare people, especially youth, to be responsible, enterprising individuals who become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial thinkers and contribute to economic development and sustainable communities. The CEO program is much more than a textbook course. Rather, students are immersed in real life learning experiences with the opportunity to take risks, manage the results, and learn from the outcomes.

Great Expectations Foundation rewarded them with a $2,500 grant to the student voted on by their peers who embodied the most change within the school year. Each student is asked to nominate a peer who they feels is most deserving of the grant to help support them in their future entrepreneurial endeavorers.
