Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria is located in Peoria, IL
In late January the assistant director of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria posted a simple need on Facebook: basketballs! Our local manager saw the post and reached out to see if we could help. Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria mission states:
“Boys & Girls Clubs are designed to inspire and enable young people to become responsible, productive, caring citizens; to assure that every young person has the opportunity to share in the American Dream, and to provide young people with resources to succeed.
Staffed by trained youth development professionals, Clubs provide character development, educational enhancement and career exploration, working within the neighborhood where at-risk youths live. For many of our children, our staff are the most influential positive adult role models in their lives.”
Great Expectations Foundation rewarded them with a $2,000 grant to help revive their local gym at their Grinnell location! Their mission to help youth, provide a safe and fun place, and inspire all is what Great Expectations stands for. We are excited to see the progress on the gym and hope to continue to be partners!
