Future Business Leaders of America – Carlyle, Illinois

The Carlyle High School is always up to something! A few times a year they reach out with cool project they need a little extra support on. This time it was their Future Business leaders of America group. FBLA mission states:

“FBLA-PBL inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.”

LuAlice, advisor of the group shared their recent success with a shirt press they had purchased to raise money for multiple endeavors including a local dog park, Christmas lights at the local park and even March of Dimes. As they continue to look for ways to give back to the community they came upon a new idea: a sand volleyball court. LuAlice says kids need the opportunity to “play volleyball, hang with friends, get some exercise, play with all ages and know that they are valued in our community.”

Great Expectations Foundation rewarded them with a $500 grant to help construction of the volleyball bit at the local fairgrounds. We are always in awe of their spirit and determination to do more in Carlyle!

Grant Amount: $500
