Pathfinder, INC Mission:

“A basic concept of Pathfinder is that all people, regardless of individual differences and intellectual abilities, have an inalienable right to programs and services which are consistent with their needs and helps them to achieve their maximum potential. Pathfinder, seeks to provide the best possible programs and services for individuals we serve with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs to expand their growth opportunities. Pathfinder’s focus always remains on helping to enrich the quality of life for the people we serve.”

Pathfinder, INC provides an invaluable service to the community of Jonesboro by providing multiple services to disabled adults and children. Founded in 1971 they started with just 6 students and have now grown to over 13 locations in the state of Arkansas as well as a Preschool in Jacksonville, AR. They provide a multitude of services from development services to behavior health to employment contracting assisting the disabled in fostering independence. In addition they also provide residential programs where students can learn to gain independence in a safe environment.

Their list of goals include:

• To help the individuals with developmental disabilities within Arkansas become or remain self-sufficient by seeking to develop personal, social, academic and problem solving skills necessary to function independently in society.
• To protect children and adults who cannot protect themselves from abuse, neglect and exploitation and to help families stay together by providing a Special Day Care Program for the developmentally disabled at no cost to the parents.  
• To prevent and reduce inappropriate institutional care as much as possible by making home and community services available. 
• To arrange for appropriate placement and services which provides the least restrictive environment and which is in the individual’s best interest.

Great Expectations Foundation rewarded them with a $1,000 grant to help fund the purchase of a new range to provide food for their students. We believe Pathfinder INC excels in serving the community with compassion, vigor and determination. We are excited to continue a partnership with this organization as they continue to grow and serve.
